rediATM have now been removed from our branches at Lithgow, Mudgee and Bathurst

rediATMs have now been removed at Family First branches located at Lithgow, Mudgee and Bathurst.

You may or may not be aware that all of our in branch rediATMs have now been removed. This occurred in the first week of September.

Please note that the rediATMs were not owned by Family First Credit Union and as such the decision to remove the machines was made by the owner of the ATM and not by Family First Credit Union. The decision was largely made however following the decision by Family First Credit Union to withdraw from the rediATM scheme. This decision was made following the decision announced by the 4 major banks in September 2017 to withdraw the direct charge fee from their ATMs which resulted in 10,000 ATMs becoming direct charge free. This position by the major banks effectively meant that the reason for Family First Credit Union being part of the rediATM scheme was no longer valid.

Now that the rediATMs have been removed it is important to convey to our members the impacts to them as well as to outline the options that they will have going forward:

  • Direct Charge Free transactions exist at over 10,000 ATMs including those owned by the 4 major banks (CBA, Westpac, ANZ and NAB)
  • rediATMs will still exist and will not levy a Direct Charge Fee to Family First Credit Union cardholders up until 31 December 2018 whereby at which point some rediATMs may impose a Direct Charge Fee
  • Normal ATM transaction costs apply to all cardholders independent of where the transactions are performed subject to the Member Relationship Scheme (refer to the Fees & Charges schedule)
  • Changing your PIN (if you know your existing PIN) can only be done at rediATMs up to 31 December 2018 whereas you will be required to attend a branch to change your PION at a PIN Change Terminal past this date
